Located within the 120-acre Wainapanapa State Park, Wainapanapa Black Sand Beach is not a good beach for swimming – especially not for poors swimmmers and children. The waves can be high and the shorebreak and rip currents strong.
Wai?anapanapa State Park is a 122-acre (0.49 km2) state park in Hana, on the island of Maui, in Hawaii. It is located at the end of Wai?anapanapa Road off Hana Highway, 53 miles (85 km) east of Kahului, Maui. Wai?anapanapa means “glistening fresh water” in the Hawaiian language, referring to nearby fresh water streams and sparkling pools.[1] The camp offers camping facilities, including a small lawn where campers may pitch a tent, and a public bathroom nearby.
